Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 (rotational) physiotherapist to join the Neuro-rehabilitation Physiotherapy Service of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB).

The post holder will work within the rehabilitation specialty in Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB including Acute Stroke, Early Supported Discharge for stroke, Reablement, In patient rehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation wards in community hospitals (Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda & Ysbyty Cwm Cynon) and Neurological outpatients services.

Main duties of the job

The physiotherapy department are looking for an HCPC registered physiotherapist who can demonstrate previous experience of multi-disciplinary team working within core rotations at band 5 level and have a good working knowledge of NHS systems and procedures.

The post holder will be responsible for the comprehensive assessment and identification of problems of patients, including those with complex presentation, producing a highly specialised treatment plan based on a sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of physical treatment skills.

The post holder will require the ability to perform and cope with all aspects of manual handling and carry out the full range of duties required of the post, including on call respiratory rota.

This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of NHS Healthcare Systems
  • Varied Experience at Post graduation level in Physiotherapy practice
  • Works on respiratory On Call rota
  • Completed all core rotations as junior therapist
Desirable criteria
  • Bobath Module
  • Sufficient experience working as registrant

Skills

Desirable criteria
  • Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B2) are Desirable for this Role.
