Band 6 - Registered Nurse, Emergency Department
As part of a wider nursing recruitment drive for the Emergency Department (ED) in Prince Charles Hospital (PCH) an exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Registered Nurses to come and join our ED.
The Emergency Department at Prince Charles Hospital is a designated Trauma Unit and is a busy department within a large district general hospital. The unit consists of a dedicated paediatric unit, minor injuries unit, majors areas, ambulatory care unit and an adult and paediatric resuscitation area.
We are seeking to recruit a large number of Band 6 Registered Nurses with ED experience of caring for patients with acute and life threatening illness or injury who are able to assess and plan care for patients who attend ED.
Main duties of the job
You will also be required to take charge of your specific allocated area each shift and delegate and support junior nurses within that area whilst being supported clinically by a supervisory Band 7 Nurse in Charge.
Applicants will need to be able to act independently within the UHB and professional guidelines, referring to supervisory sister/charge nurse as appropriate.
Applicants will need to have a clear vision for best practice and evidence of decision-making and organisational skills.
You will be supported with your ongoing development by the Senior Nurse for Professional Development.
The department is undergoing a clinical model and workforce modernisation review and this is an exciting time to come and join our innovative team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
