Job overview
As part of a wider nursing recruitment drive for the Emergency Department (ED) in Prince Charles Hospital (PCH) an exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Registered Nurses to come and join our ED.
The Emergency Department at Prince Charles Hospital is a designated Trauma Unit and is a busy department within a large district general hospital. The unit consists of a dedicated paediatric unit, minor injuries unit, majors areas, ambulatory care unit and an adult and paediatric resuscitation area.
The department is undergoing a clinical model and workforce modernisation review and this is an exciting time to come and join our innovative team.
We are seeking to recruit Band 5 Registered Nurses with experience of caring for patients with acute and life threatening illness or injury who are able to assess and plan care for patients who attend ED.
Main duties of the job
Applicants will need to be able to act independently within the UHB and professional guidelines.
Applicants will need to have a clear vision for best practice and evidence of decision-making and organisational skills.
You will be supported with your ongoing development by the Emergency Department Senior Nurse and Senior Nurse for Professional Development.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see ‘Welsh Language Guidance’ in the documents right at the bottom.
