Job overview
Lead & co-ordinate the day to day activities of the complete maintenance service, so as to deliver a robust, technically strong customer responsive service which complies with relevant statutory directives.
Also to monitor and guide the staff who reports to them, and assist external contractors to complete their tasks and objectives.
To have made an effective contribution to reaching the Health Board’s vision, strategic objectives and key work programmes.

Then look no further - we are looking for bright and ambitious Operational Estates Officer to join our great team at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
We are looking for someone who has a strong track record of managing and delivering a customer focused Estates service at a similar level in a highly complex environment, preferably in healthcare.
We need Estates Officers who will lead a team, where the quality of service, a safe patient and staff environment, strong financial management and statutory compliance are the key drivers within all areas of the service.
This is a key role within our operational team, and we are keen to recruit motivated individuals who will help us to provide the levels of service that we continually strive to provide to our patients and clinical colleagues.
As a senior manager the post holder will assist in the production and delivery of the organisation's estates operational plans and will provide operational support in the delivery of capital projects. They will provide line management accountability for associated multi-skilled staff and will ensure appropriate financial, workforce and performance management arrangements are in place.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree / HND or equivalent, successful completion of a recognised apprenticeship, plus significant demonstrable experience. Relevant management qualification or equivalent experience of leading and managing staff within an estates function of equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Authorised person status IOSH Certification Corporate member of an appropriate profession to engineering or management
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of a wide range of estates operations at management level Day to day management of statutory and mandatory PPM Experience of managing large teams of engineering and maintence staff Management of policies and procedures in delivering estates functions Experience of delivering services to budget Management of H&S within the workplace
Desirable criteria
- Experience of management within a NHS or public sector estates or facilities function Experience of public sector procurement process Experience of capital project delivery
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Within an estates, maintence, facilities management function Proven knowledge of H&S legislation Knowledge of statutory compliance Knowledge of WHTM's Knowledge of HR process and policy
Desirable criteria
- Use of Microsoft office, report writing, CAD
- Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B2) are Desirable for this Role.
