Are you an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented professional with a passion for pharamcy operations? We are seeking a Pharmacy Operational Support Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth delivery of pharmacy services.

This is a key role providing project and managerial support across a wide range of activities across the pharmacy department. You will work closely with teams to ensure efficient service delivery and support the strategic goals of the department.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide project support for service improvement initiatives and operational planning.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on activity levels and waiting times, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting to stakeholders.
  • Oversee and coordinate the on-call service, including rota planning and issue resolution.
  • Line manage administrative and clerical staff, supporting their development and ensuring high standards of performance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance operational efficiency and excellent patient care.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience or training
  • Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent level of skills, knowledge and experience
  • Staff or project management knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Customer care focus and confidence in dealing with client information.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Keyboard skills with familiarity of Microsoft office software e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience of working within the NHS.
  • Experience of collecting, collating, analysing and presenting waiting list information/data.
  • Experience in the use of electronic systems/databases.
  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards achieving this level.
Desirable criteria
  • An understanding of waiting list management.
  • Project Management qualification.
  • Management/Leadership qualification.
  • Knowledge of targets and waiting lists.
  • Knowledge of Welsh PAS (Myrddin), FACE, WCCIS, Clinical Portal or Swansea Bay WPAS.
