Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for HCPC Registered Podiatrist to work within the Podiatry Department in CTM.  You will have initiative, take a flexible approach to work and will be confident in the application of evidence based podiatric applications.
 
You will be joining the one the Community Teams and have the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical and domiciliary settings across the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Foot Print. Direct and indirect clinical support will be available and the post holder will provide clinical supervision themselves to Podiatry Students and Support clinical staff ensuring delivery of safe and effective evidence based Podiatric Pathways.

We are committed to developing our staff and provide opportunities for experience within specialist areas of practice. We deliver specialist services in Musculoskeletal Podiatry (Adult and Paediatrics), Tissue Viability, Diabetes.

Podiatry Services continually are being reviewed and amended to meet the fluctuating demand across the sites and specialisms to ensure safe provision. The successful applicant will be based at one of the main Community Health Parks but there will be the expectation of a flexible approach to work which will include working at other sites within CTM Health Board. The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner and travel to different geographical locations to undertake domiciliary visits is essential for this role.

Main duties of the job

Play an integral part in the delivery of effective evidence based podiatric care to residents of Cwm Taf Morgannwg in a timely efficient manner.
Working as an autonomous practitioner undertaking initial clinical assessment which includes the assimilation of information from a wide range of sources.
Provide care in various health, social care and private settings supporting the patient to remain independent.
Manage a mixed caseload of patients with a varied medical history with co-morbidities and varied foot health status that require individualised evidence based treatment plans.
Work as an autonomous practitioner making day to day decisions on a wide range f conditions with reference to line manager or professional colleague as needed.
Ensure effective communication with patients, relatives and carers endeavouring to overcome any communication barriers whilst relaying sensitive information and when necessary using persuasive skills.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
