Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative individual to join our Team. The Business Support Officer will provide operational business and corporate support to the Public Health Team. This is a key administrative role within Cwm Taf Morgannwg Public Health Team to ensure efficient and effective support for the delivery of public health functions across the region.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the supervision and day to day management of administrative staff.

Working closely with the Business Support Manager, the post holder will support financial, HR, and administrative processes, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Degree level, or possess relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Business Management or related qualification.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
Desirable criteria
  • PRINCE 2/Agile Foundation or equivalent.
  • Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B2) are Desirable for this Role.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience communicating effectively with professional staff at multiple levels and the public.
  • Experience in project implementation and monitoring.
  • Experience with finance systems (ordering, budget monitoring).
  • Experience implementing administrative policies and procedures.
  • Experience producing management or information reports.
  • Experience in supervising/managing staff.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in monitoring performance indicators.
  • Experience in formal minute taking.
  • Previous work experience in an NHS or public sector environment.
