Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-motivated professional to join our Health Protection Strategic Team, in Cwm Taf Morgannwg.  

As part of the Health Board Public Health Team you’ll work across Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf, as a key part of the CTM Health Protection Service that is delivered in partnership across the Health Board,  Local Authorities and Public Health Wales .

 Areas of work are varied and will include:

·      Addressing health inequalities in health protection response

·      Pandemic Planning

·      Responding to infectious disease incidents / outbreaks

·      National elimination programmes for blood borne virus and tuberculosis

·      Immunisations and screening support

·      Sexual Health

·      Prison and probation health

·      Antimicrobial resistance

·      Environmental health threats

·      Support to emergency planning including CBRN incidents

·      Delivery of training in health protection to staff and volunteers

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the implementation and delivery of the outcomes in the Health Protection Strategic Plan. You will work on health protection programmes and response in a range of different settings and with identified target groups in line with key local priorities, helping to build a resilient health protection system and contributing to a healthier, happier population.
