Job overview
This post is fixed term for 18 months to meet the needs of the service.
The role of the 8a Service Manager, working within the Primary and Community Care Group, provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced, motivated and passionate primary care manager, to be responsible for the management of primary care general dental and optometry services across the CTM University Health Board footprint.
The successful candidate will have exceptional knowledge on dental and optometry contract management with demonstrable experience in service planning and managing service change. We are looking for a manager who can come and make a difference to our team and provide inspirational leadership, alongside the day to day-management. The service manager will have experience of managing teams, with the ability to maintain the supportive team environment we have created and provide opportunities for continued learning and development.
Main duties of the job
Successful candidates must be experienced and professional leaders and have experience of working in a Primary Care, knowledge on the dental and optometry contracts would be benefical.
You will be a confident communicator with colleagues and stakeholders alike.
You will be able to deliver on strategic objectives for primary care and the wider care group.
You will report to the Directorate Manager and contribute with the senior management team to ensure operational plans and performance are closely managed, providing solutions to resolve difficult operational issues.
You will work closely with the senior management team, to develop and implement the Integrated Medium Term Plan and operational strategies, ensuring that systems and processes are in place to comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements

- Educated to Master’s Degree Level or possess skills, knowledge and experience to its equivalency.
