We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, determined and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Orthopaedic Team here at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
The post holder will provide specialist advice, assessment and treatments to a range of orthopaedic patients. Excellent problem solving and communication skills are essential.
With a dynamic ‘can do’ approach, you will have the opportunity to positively participate in a forever changing and busy environment.
With the aim of up-skilling staff, supervision, support and training will be part of your role.
The Therapy service at CTMUHB is an expanding, forward thinking and highly regarded service and this post offers excellent personal and professional development opportunities within an established and supportive team.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to trauma and orthopedic patients; using best current evidence based clinical management.
To work with consultants and other health care professionals, committed to enhancing the services and provisions of others.
To work within a variety of settings, to plan and organise own caseload, balancing other patient related and professional demands in order that the physiotherapy case load meets the University Health Board objectives.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

Essential criteria
- To have gained full experience within the core Band 5 rotations, including respiratory/critical care, trauma, orthopaedics, neurology, general medicine, MSK outpatients
Desirable criteria
- Recent completion of validated clinical educator's course
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of attendance on appropriate courses to enhance specialist T&O, MSK knowledge and skills
- Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards (national and local)
Desirable criteria
- NICE guidelines relevant to area of work

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
