Job overview

The District Nurse Team Leader carries 24 hour continuing responsibility for the standards of care provided to patients on their caseload.

They will be responsible for overseeing the clinical leadership, development and direction of the nursing team.  This will include the operational management of the caseload, nursing team and allocated resources.

There is a requirement for a flexible approach to work and an ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.  

The post holder will work predominantly work day shifts for management  but will have to be able to work night shifts also for supervision. 

Main duties of the job

There are multiple demands in this exciting role due to the challenging nature of providing care for patients outside of the hospital environment and within the overnight service.  The post-holder will however find themselves well supported by a very friendly and enthusiastic team of staff.

The post will be based across 2 sites  within CTMUHB  , although you could be asked to work across the service as needed.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience as a Band 6 District Nurse or above
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within health and social service systems

Knowledge

  • UK NMC Registration
  • Degree in CHS [District Nursing] Specialist Practitioner DN or equivalent knowledge, training or experience.

  • Working to Masters leve
