Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for several candidates to join our Housekeeping Services at Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The roles' will support various part time hours based across a rota of seven days.
The role will support the Facilities (Hotel Services) team in delivering Housekeeping services to the National Standards for these services in NHS Wales, HIW standard 5 and 9 and Organisational Standards. To assist in developing, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of service delivery and team working practices; and helping to maintain open, effective communication.
Main duties of the job

- Work within the Health Board, to undertake duties as designated by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Maintaining a high standard of environmental cleanliness
- To observe and maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene, confidentiality, courtesy and consideration to all patients and fellow employees;
- Housekeeping and Cleanliness duties will be routinely carried out in accordance with the Health Board Housekeeping standard operating procedure and roles and responsibilities for cleaning procedure of which standards are subject to regular audit.

Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate literacy, numerical and comprehension skills sufficient to be able to read and understand written instructions.
- Experience of working with people. Experience of dealing with members of the public
- Good communication skills. Able to work as part of a team.
Desirable criteria
- Worked within a hotel services environment Skilled in the use of a variety of equipment used in cleaning services
- Previous experience of working within a hospital environment.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of COSHH Guidelines Knowledge of innate object manual handling guidelines

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
