Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational, dynamic and enthusiastic Band 7 Allied Health Professional or Registered Nurse for the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) Integrated Autism Service (IAS) Team. The Team cover the whole of CTM Health Board.
The Integrated Autism Service (IAS) offers diagnostic assessment for adults and direct support for autistic adults and their parent/carers. The service also offers professional consultation, joint working, training, advice and support to all sectors who support autistic people.
The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner responsible for managing own workload in a manner that complies with NICE guidance principles, professional conduct standards and legislative requirements around neurodevelopmental services.
For the right candidate full training for diagnostic assessment will be provided.
English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
Main duties of the job
The IAS offers diagnostic assessment of autism in adults and time-limited post diagnostic interventions for autistic adults and their families (who do not meet eligibility criteria for Secondary Care Mental Health and/or Learning Disability services). The service also offers professional consultation and engagement with every sector, in addition to delivering training around autism.
The post holder will undertake and/or contribute to adult diagnostic assessments and in partnership with other team members, develop and implement highly specialist interventions for autistic adults and their families.
The postholder will be expected to work in partnership with existing teams to strengthen relationships, co-produce resources, develop transition arrangements and explore opportunities for joint working.
This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
