Digital Transformation Programme Manager

Job overview

The Digital Transformation Programme Manager will support the Assistant Director for Digital Transformation in devising and executing programmes of projects to deliver digital solutions across the organisation. They will work alongside the Assistant Director of Digital Transformation and other members of the Senior Management Team in devising a digital roadmap that delivers the objectives of local and national digital strategies. 

They will ensure that the highest standards of project management are maintained and have in place those systems necessary to ensure that the UHB effectively and efficiently plans, organises and implements projects on time and on budget.  The post holder will personally lead highly complex projects or those of high sensitivity and importance, particularly those affecting a broad range of departments or those directly concerned with the delivery of improvements to patient care.

The post holder will support the Assistant Director of Digital Transformation in the management of budgets associated with programmes and projects that fall under their umbrella. 

The Digital Transformation Programme Manager will lead and manage dedicated programme and project management staff. 

The post holder will represent the Health Board in the National Programme Leads Group and other relevant national boards and groups to ensure Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) is well placed to influence the national direction of digital  solutions

Main duties of the job

  • The Digital Transformation Programme Manager is responsible for:
  •  Leading on the development of Digital Transformation business cases.
  •  Playing a key role in the digital business transformation of the Health
  • Board.
  • Assisting the Assistant Director for Digital Transformation on the plan
  • to transition the organisation from local/national clinical informatics
  • solutions, to the best of breed ensuring clinical staff have easy and
  • secure access to electronic patient records at the point of care.
  • Actively promoting the effective use of information and technology at all
  • levels within the Health Board. 
  •  Working with the Assistant Director of Digital Transformation and the
  • Senior Management Team to enhance service delivery and promote
  • digital transformation. 
  • Securing, planning and managing financial, human and physical
  • resources for Digital Transformation Programmes
  •  Communicating complex technologies, promoting new ways of working to clinical staff, Board Directors and all levels of staff throughout the organisation. 
  • Working collaboratively with clinicians and managers throughout the organisation to ensure appropriate investment for Digital & Data and to maximise benefits to clinicians and patients.
  •  Contribute to Information Governance by assessing and communicating risks related to the handling of data and information and ensuring sensitive information is dealt with in legal, secure, efficient and effective ways.

Essential criteria
  • Extensive specialist knowledge & expertise of a range of disciplines e.g. information systems, performance management, human resources, project management. This level of knowledge would have been gained over a significant period in addition to specialist training.

Qualifications

  • Educated to Masters level in an Informatics/ICT related subject or equivalent experience
  • PRINCE2 training (formal or informal)
