Job overview

These posts offer an opportunity to work within the Medical Records storage hub supporting the Medical Records Department.  The posts will involve the retrieval and filing of case notes, in addition to scanning documentation.  The successful candidates will need to work as a team and be trained in all streams of work being undertaken within the Hub.  On the job training will be provided and the successful candidates will need to be numerate and literate and be able to work under pressure.

Shift 1 - 07:30 - 15:30 - Monday - Friday

Shift 2 - 09:30 - 17:30 - Monday - Friday

Main duties of the job

Duties include record filing/retrieval, receipt/dispatch, electronic tracking and digitising paper records.  Candidates must be numerate, literate, work well under pressure and understand patient confidentiality, with good communication and keyboard skills.  Previous experience is desirable but training is provided.

This is very physical work in a large warehouse with tight deadlines.  Staff will retrieve and file records on high and low shelves, using safety ladders, moving case notes via appropriate trolleys and cages.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see ‘Welsh Language Guidance’ in the documents right at the bottom.
