Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour - £24,638 per annum.

As Medical Director you will be at the heart of our transformation. Main duties of the job

We seek a high calibre individual with a proven track record of strong leadership at a senior level. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and motivate others to achieve service excellence.

Accountable to the Chief Executive, you will work autonomously but collaboratively with clinical and managerial colleagues to shape and innovate our array of services. You will need to be skilled at working across broad and diverse stakeholder groups and be committed to the delivery of public health principles.

  • Unblemished registration with GMC
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Post graduate medical qualifications

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Must be or have been practising GP or Medical Consultant level
  • Clinical Governance and Medical Management experience
  • Significant experience in driving and delivering difficult and complex organisational change
  • Track record of effective performance management, introducing systems and processes and facilitation groups
  • A good understanding of the health and social care management environment in decision making and leading continuous change and improvement in services
