Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour - £24,638 per annum.

Main duties of the job

About the Role

As General Manager for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities you will be responsible for the implementation of divisional and health board strategies; in particular focusing on the transformation agenda, delivering performance standards, service improvements and efficiencies that will enhance patient care and improve patient pathways.

The successful candidate should have extensive operational management experience and must be able to evidence delivery of whole system change and management of complex and interdependence operational services.

You will report to the Divisional Director of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, with professional accountability to the Executive Director. The General manager will work as part of a supportive, knowledgeable and innovative multi-disciplinary Senior Leadership Team who pride themselves on their influence in improving mental health and learning disability services for the population of Gwent.

  • Proven experience in senior operational management, in Healthcare or Social Care settings.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality, equitable, and safe care.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A track record of driving service improvements and leading successful change programmes.
