Main duties of the job
As a Facilities Operative you will play an essential role in providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff, patients and visitors. Working with minimal supervision, you will carry out a wide range of cleaning duties in line with national standards, infection control requirements and Health & Safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning clinical and non-clinical areas including offices, kitchens and toilet facilities
- Mopping, vacuuming, damp dusting and waste disposal
- Safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH regulations
- Completing cleaning records and audit documentation
- Maintaining stock levels and reporting faulty equipment
- Supporting and mentoring new staff where required
- Ensuring a safe and secure environment at all times

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge gained on corporate and local facilities induction and completion of internal training programme over a 12 week period (1 week departmental training with further 2 weeks on the job training)
- Working knowledge of procedures and equipment relevant to post
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations Health & Safety Policies and work procedures
- Knowledge of Infection Control Policy, Guidelines and Procedures
- Knowledge of ISO 9002 regards recording data
- Basic Food Hygiene Training
- Knowledge and compliance with Mandatory Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers - NHS Circular CEL 23 (2010)

- Previous experience in similar role.
