Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to become an integral part of our Business Systems Team.
As a key part of the Corporate Finance team you will play a hands-on role in the administration and support of the Health Board’s core financial systems. You’ll work closely with a wide range of staff across the organisation, providing guidance and support that enables the team to deliver its overall objectives.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of a small, dynamic team, the post holder will play a vital role in the day-to-day administration and support of the Health Board’s Oracle-based Ledger and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including Self Service Procurement.
Provide users with routine information and reports and action a range of system set-up and routine maintenance (which will involve manual or electronic loading and validation of data).
The successful candidate should be familiar with excel and other Office 365 applications and comfortable with managing a variable workload and competing deadlines.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Systems support
- Providing Oracle systems support to finance staff and Aneurin Bevan self-service procurement (SSP) users
- To provide administrative support to the Finance Business Systems Team
- To undertake a range of administrative functions within the Oracle system
- To carry out and document system testing from scripts
- To write, update and adapt test scripts for Oracle and other finance systems
- To maintain project plans and documentation
- To provide advice to users on existing and new functionality
- To assist in the development of system and process controls
- To provide when required reports and information for users in accordance with end user specifications, identifying and utilising organisation’s recognised method, module or reporting tool to extract the information
- To produce system audit reports as and when required
- To attend and contribute to all Wales consortium governance when required
Oracle Financials Computer System
- To set up and maintain end users, in accordance with financial governance requirements, Health Board financial procedures and system administration procedures
- To set up and maintain the position hierarchy in accordance with Health Board FCPs, as required
- To provide period end closedown cover
- Ensure all relevant interfaces are promptly uploaded to the main system(s)

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level, including Maths & English (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems, some of which are non-routine, and non-routine activities such as answering queries, progress chasing, task related problem solving, acquired through experience and training to Vocational Level 3 or equivalent demonstrable experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of working in a Finance department (or similar corporate department) or an ERP Systems (e.g. Oracle) Administration Department
Desirable criteria
- Experience of Oracle Financials and associated tools
- Experience of training end users of a computer system
Skills
Essential criteria
- Standard level of Windows & Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, Email and Internet
- Good interest and aptitude for Finance/Procurement Systems and general IT
- Good verbal communication skills
- Able to plan & prioritise work. Able to work to deadlines. Numerate and accurate

- Understanding of finance/P2P processes
