Job overview
The role is to support the work of the Health Protection Response Team various work streams, including Direct Observational Therapy and health screening for communicable and non-communicable diseases.
• The post holder will focus on the direct needs of patients and their carers in relation to the Health Protection Response Team work
streams.
• The post holder will support various work streams to meet the needs of the service; the drive-in testing centre, additional community sites,
patients’ homes and care homes.
• The post holder will continue to work within defined protocols, under direction and supervision.
Supervision always available at all locations during rotation.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be specifically expected to undertake the following duties :-
• Meet and greet patients and explain about the procedure that is to be undertaken, identifying when additional support and reassurance
is required.
• Support appropriate assessments and obtain a variety of samples including: throat swabs, skin lesions, blood, urine, stool, sputum.
• To work within clinical competencies with supporting base knowledge. The post holder will have completed a learning package at QCF
/CQFW level 2 or will be expected to complete an accredited learning package at level 2.
Currently we are unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the Home Office’s criteria. Anyone requiring a certificate of sponsorship is therefore unable to be shortlisted and interviewed.
This post is currently advertised at Band 2. The role is under review within the Health Board as part of a national review and may, in future, progress to Band 3 with an updated job description. If appointed, your manager will ensure you are kept informed and will support you through any changes, including discussing relevant training requirements
