Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent band 3 HCSW position on the Children's Emergency Assessment Unit at the Grange University Hospital. CEAU is part of the Paediatric unit which includes the Paediatric inpatient wards, and high dependency. The post holder may be required to work throughout the Paediatric Unit.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have a level 3 qualification such as NVQ3, NNEB, QCF3, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent. Experience in caring for children in a hospital setting is desirable but not essential.
The post involves caring for children from birth to 18 years of age with a wide variety of conditions and covering almost all specialties. Daily restocking, cleaning, managing stock levels, assisting registered colleagues with patient assessment and care, completing documentation and organising & assisting with clinics and safeguarding are included in the responsibilities of the role. The successful applicant will need to be available to work days, nights and weekends. This is a busy clinical area where effective time management, prioritising workload and teamwork are essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
