Job overview

We are looking to recruit  registered nurses to join our rehabilitation/Palliative care ward at YAB. Ebbw ward is a 32 bedded single room environment. We pride ourselves in providing excellent standards of nursing care to our patients requiring a period of rehabilitation, complex discharge planning and palliative care. We provide dedicated care to those patients who require palliative care input and end of life care.

We are looking for  dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic staff who demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We work closely with our multi-disciplinary team and our dedicated palliative care team to ensure individualised patient centred care.

We  explore innovative ways of working to enhance our patients experience in hospital providing an environment that is patient and staff focused. We are a very welcoming, supportive and friendly team of professionals who strive to provide a positive caring environment for both patients and staff.

You will be supported thorough  the ‘Journey of Excellence’ which is a bespoke program which will assist you in the acquisition of knowledge and skills to facilitate your progression.

Main duties of the job

Successful Applicants will need to be motivated, enthusiastic and reliable with a passion for providing high quality patient care. Along with an interest in acute medical care and specialist palliative care nursing. We care for our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can consider several working patterns to support work life balance of our staff. The role will involve flexible working to meet the need of the service.  

As a registered nurse you will be expected to have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise your own workload and delegate tasks and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.

You will be expected to take on the role as a practice supervisor/assessor, supporting nursing students on placement along with our own junior members of the nursing team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
