Job overview
We are looking to recruit registered nurses to join our community Rehabilitation/Medical/Palliative care ward within YAB. Ebbw ward is a 32 bedded single room environment. We pride ourselves in providing excellent standards of nursing care to our patients with chronic medical conditions, who require ongoing medical intervention and palliative symptomatic/ end of life care.
We are committed to explore in innovative ways of working to enhance our patients experience in hospital providing an environment that is patient and staff focused. We are a very welcoming, supportive and friendly team of professionals who strive to provide a positive caring environment for both patients and staff.
If you are interested in applying for a post you will be supported thorough mentoring and the ‘Journey of Excellence’ which is a bespoke program that will assist you in the acquisition of knowledge and skills to facilitate your progression into a confident and competent post registration nurse.
We also have a registered nurse training competency plan for all nurses that join our team to ensure you are confident and competent in the valuable skills required for the job role.
Main duties of the job
Successful Applicants will need to be motivated, enthusiastic and reliable with a passion for providing high quality patient care. Along with an interest in rehabilitation and specialist palliative care nursing. We care for our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can consider several working patterns to support work life balance of our staff. The role will involve flexible working to meet the needs of the service.
As a registered nurse you will be expected to have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise your own workload and delegate tasks and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
You will be expected to take on the role as a practice supervisor/assessor, supporting nursing students on placement along with our own junior members of the nursing team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
