Physiotherapy Technician (Band 4) – 12‑Month Fixed Term 
Torfaen Community Resource Team part time and fulltime hours available.  

The Torfaen Community Resource Team (CRT) is seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 4 Physiotherapy Technician to join the multidisciplinary service on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. This is an excellent development opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting people in the community to maintain independence, maximise mobility, and improve overall quality of life. 

 

This post is a fixed term/secondment for 12 months until 31st March 2027 to meet the needs of the service.  If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

 

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with qualified therapists to ensure safe, effective care and contribute to high‑quality rehabilitation for adults living across Torfaen. 

Deliver physiotherapy programmes delegated by a qualified therapist. 

Support patient rehabilitation in the community and within the Torfaen Falls Clinic.  Observe, record and report any changes in patient condition. 

Provide accurate documentation and maintain patient notes to a high standard. 

Use Clinical Workstation and WCCIS to record and access clinical information. 

Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team to support safe service delivery.

Essential criteria
  • Flexibility to meet community needs
  • Ability to travel between sites and patients' homes

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • Good general education to GCSE or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant subject
  • Knowledge of procedures for the use of physiotherapy equipment, techniques and administrative procedures
  • Knowledge of specific patient specific conditions, forms of therapy, acquired through training, experience
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written when interacting with members of the team, other professionals, patients and their families.
  • Working knowledge of specialised equipment appropriate to working area.
  • All Wales Manual Handling Passport
  • The physical ability to perform and cope with all aspects of manual handling as demanded by the job role.
Desirable criteria
  • Agored Level 3 Diploma in Physiotherapy Support or equivalent
