Job overview
An exciting opportunity has become available for Consultant Psychiatrist post within Ty Cyfannol Ward, based within the Caerphilly Borough of Gwent, covering 10-sessions.
Ty Cyfannol is an Adult mental health, 23-bedded mixed gender ward serving the population of adults between the ages of 18 - 65 residing in the Borough of Caerphilly. The post holder will be based within Ty Cyfannol, Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr and will be supported by a wider multi-disciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Health Care Support Workers, Medical Secretary, Specialty Doctor, Junior Doctor and Physician Associate
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a forward thinking, compassionate and proactive inpatient service and will work closely with the two Consultant Psychiatrists working within the North and South Caerphilly Community Mental Health Teams. The Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team for West Gwent is co-located next to the ward.
The following list indicates the initiatives currently high on the strategic agenda for the service:
- Forging closer working links with Social Service colleagues and third sector
- Developing alternatives to admissions within Acute Mental Health services and the well-established Crisis Resolution/Home Treatment Services
- The Primary Care Mental Health Service and the single point of entry to secondary services (Mental Health 111 service), in line with the Welsh Mental Health Measure
- Maintaining the high standard of person-centred care identified by Health Inspectorate Wales (HIW)
