Estates Manager - Grange University Hospital
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Estates Manager to join our Maintenance and Operations team at the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran, which provides specialist and critical care and is the newest addition to the clinical futures strategy.
You will be a key member of the Operational Maintenance Team and will represent the Senior Estates Manager on relevant matters. You will also provide cover during absence, performing those duties normally undertaken by the Senior Estates Manager, reporting to the Divisional Director of Facilities when required.
You will undertake a wide range of duties associated with the management, operation and maintenance of healthcare buildings, engineering plant, services and equipment.
You will manage a pro-active workforce in the provision of a comprehensive and responsive maintenance service. The successful candidate will deliver optimal utilisation of labour deployment to ensure continuity of service provision.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake a wide range of duties associated with the management, operation and maintenance of healthcare buildings, engineering plant, services and equipment. To compile management and technical reports
They will be responsible for staff and non-staff budgets in accordance with the Health Board’s Standing Financial Instructions and to carry out duties as authorised signatory of Electrical, Mechanical and Building fabric maintenance services.
The successful candidate will deliver optimal utilisation of labour deployment to ensure continuity of service provision.
The working hours will be 08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday however there may be a requirement to work outside of these hours to meet the needs of the service.
There is also a requirement for the successful candidate to participate in the Works and Estates on call rota.
The ability to speak Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Professional knowledge acquired to degree level plus relevant or equivalent experience
- Specialist knowledge of building fabric
- Management/supervisors studies
- Served a recognised apprenticeship
Desirable criteria
- Training in Health & Safety
- Corporate/Full Member of a professional Institution
- Evidence of CPD
- Specialist Knowledge acquired through courses and or experience to masters level or equivalent
Experience
