Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dedicated Healthcare Support Worker to join the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit within Gynaecology.
We are seeking an individual who is highly organised, adaptable, and able to work flexibly within a busy and sensitive Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit. The postholder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide high‑quality, compassionate care to women and families experiencing early pregnancy concerns.
Key Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 / OCF Level 2 in Health or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to support patients, relatives, and colleagues in often emotive situations.
- Commitment to working within the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales.
- Ability to work under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Competent in venepuncture (or willingness to undertake training).
- Flexible approach to working within the Gynaecology service.
Main duties of the job
Currently we are unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the Home Office’s criteria. Anyone requiring a certificate of sponsorship is therefore unable to be shortlisted and interviewed.
This post is currently advertised at Band 2. The role is under review within the Health Board as part of a national review and may, in future, progress to Band 3 with an updated job description. If appointed, your manager will ensure you are kept informed and will support you through any changes, including discussing relevant training requirements
