The Team forms part of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board working under the leadership of the Executive Director of Public Health and Strategic Partnerships and covers the five counties of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen.
If you are passionate about enhancing and safeguarding the health of local communities, addressing inequities, and aligning with our vision of promoting longer, healthier lives for everyone, we want to hear from you! We are dedicated to tackling the inequalities that persist within our population, concentrating on those who face disproportionately negative health outcomes. If you share our ambition to prioritise prevention strategies to combat health inequities and collaborate with our partners and communities to uncover the root causes of poor health across the three domains of public health, we can work together to address the broader determinants of health. By creating optimal environments for individuals to thrive and delivering inclusive, high-quality services, you can be part of this vital mission. Please reach out; we would love to connect!
Main duties of the job
You will lead on a broad portfolio, offering strategic oversight, working through creativity to achieve impactful change on our priorities. You will be a compassionate and dynamic leader, supporting the team to provide the best public health service with our communities. You will clear voice, driving the prevention agenda, working at senior leadership level in the Health Board, with local partners and the NHS in Wales including Public Health Wales.
This is an opportunity to bring your passion for public health with practical knowledge across all three domains of Public Health, to step into a leadership role of an enthusiastic and committed multidisciplinary team.
