Job overview
We are looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking Web Content Designer to join the Gwent Public Health Team. This is an exciting opportunity to coordinate the development, maintenance, and improvement of our public health websites and intranet presence, including the Gwent Public Health pages, Melo, and the Integrated Wellbeing Network sites. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our digital platforms are accurate, engaging and accessible, using your technical skills and insight to resolve issues, enhance usability and support colleagues across the team and organisation.
Main duties of the job
We want someone with a creative eye for innovation, someone who brings fresh ideas, curiosity and a passion for improving user experience. In this role, you’ll work closely with colleagues in Communications, Intelligence and wider Public Health to deliver high‑quality digital content, innovative web platforms and pages and contribute to new projects that advance our digital content offer. You’ll also provide training, advice and technical support to staff at all levels, helping to build digital confidence across the Health Board. If you’re proactive, skilled in web content design and development, and eager to shape digital public health communications that make a real difference to our communities, we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- A relevant degree such as Marketing, Digital or Web Development
- Knowledge of web design and experience of developing web content and managing websites.
- Knowledge of managing a SharePoint (Web) server farm and external web servers.
- Understanding and practical experience of development in MURA, Sharepoint, Word Press, HTML, Javascript, CSS, graphics creation, multimedia creation.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge or experience of automated extraction of data from websites (data scraping)
- Knowledge or experience of Python
Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive experience of website, intranet and online system management.
- Experience of planning and delivering training.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within a health organisation.

Essential criteria
- Ability to fix system problems under pressure
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload in a busy and fast-paced environment.
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for accuracy.
