Job overview

The Senior Pharmacist Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) will be a member of the pharmacy ePMA implementation team, utilising specialist pharmaceutical knowledge, IT and leadership skills to support healthcare staff across different specialities during a period of significant change in moving away from paper-based medicines management processes to digital solutions.

This is a fixed term / secondment post 

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Work alongside the Lead ePMA Pharmacist in supporting the build and configuration of the ePMA system to reflect 
    current clinical and medicines management practice to achieve successful implementation across Aneurin Bevan University Health 
    Board (ABUHB).
  • Support the development and continual assurance of the clinical governance arrangements for medicines management aspects of 
    digital solutions within the legal frameworks.
  • Demonstrate and maintain clinical knowledge and experience through departmental and ward duties (adjusted to meet the ongoing
    needs of ePMA implementation).
  • Build and deliver training alongside the ePMA clinical teams to multi-disciplinary staff across ABUHB.
  • Ensure adherence to patient safety and information standards of NHS Wales and ABUHB.
  • Be a visible role model in the use of ePMA and related digital systems, supporting the development of new ways of working to ensure 
    maximum levels of safety and quality are continually maintained.
