Job overview
Exciting opportunities have arisen for Band 5 Theatre Recovery Nurse to join our Orthopaedic elective team at St Woolos Theatres.
We offer an elective only service from Monday to Friday.
We are a supportive, friendly department which is strongly centred on team work and patient care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic staff members to provide optimum care to post-operative patients. The candidate will be required to work in our urology satellite unit also as part of the shift requirement.
The candidates must possess excellent communication and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise workloads. The candidate must have a great work ethic and competent in the safe management of post-operative care.
The ideal candidate will be expected to demonstrate commitment to their own personal and professional development and show keen interest in line with the clinical futures strategy of this Health Board. You may be required to work across ABUHB theatre sites if the needs of the service demand it.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Education/ Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria
- NMC Registered Nurse holding a post graduate OR Operating Department Practitioner registered with HCPC
- knowledge of the Recovery area
- Evidence of professional development that at least meets the minimum requirement of the post holder's professional body
- Mentorship qualification
Desirable criteria
- Degree level education or a willingness to work towards
Experience
Essential criteria
- Working within a hospital setting.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience working in a critical care environment, theatre department or post-operative surgical setting
