Job overview

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Trauma and Orthopaedic Directorate are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for 2 x permanent Consultant posts, specialising in hands.

The successful candidate will further enhance the effective department with their specialist skills and experience, with opportunities to inform the continual development of the hand service.  Working 10 sessions, the post will support the service, including fracture clinics, and the elective demand, delivering outpatient activity and independent theatre list.

Services are delivered at a rage of sites including the Royal Gwent Hospital, Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr and the Nevill Hall Hospital Hospital. it is important to be aware that work patterns may change and the place(s) of duties modified.

The post is specifically provided to support improvements against the Welsh Government treatment guidelines for treatment and outpatient pathways

Main duties of the job

Main duties include the delivery of specialist hand treatment pathways across trauma and elective pathways

Working in a leadership and teaching role in multidisciplinary outpatient clinics

To support the department to work towards Welsh Government guidelines for treatment and outpatient pathways

To assist and participate with the development of postgraduate training for F1s, F2s, SpRs, STs and other staff as appropriate
