This post is based at Royal Gwent / Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr and Nevill Hall hospitals with the requirement to attend various ABUHB sites
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated individual to join the Cardiology Team as a Directorate Support Manager. The post holder will support the delivery of key objectives for the Division of Medicine, through working closely with the Directorate Team.
The Post holder will be responsible for supporting the Directorate Manager, Operational Services Manager and Assistant Directorate Manager with the operational management of the directorate providing support in all aspects of the business. They will assist in planning and implementing operational initiatives in line with local and national strategies. They will provide project support to key service improvement projects within the Division of Medicine producing appropriate project documentation.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the day to day supervision of Medical secretaries and Administration Teams with particular emphasis on staff management and staff workloads and therefore experience of current staff management is required.
Manage and investigate concerns, using both verbal and written communication, will involve dealing with sensitive or contentious issues.
Be able to demonstrate a commitment to achieving high quality standards of work. Flexible to the needs of the service. Able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail.
The post holder will monitor and assist with the delivery of the Directorate’s Referral to Treatment (RTT) ensuring that available capacity is utilised effectively. The post holder will be responsible for devising service performance reports and communicating them effectively to key stakeholders. They will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop any necessary tools to improve processes and services across the directorate and division. It is essential that the successful candidate has an understanding of NHS Wales and Welsh Government targets along with experience in using Health Board information systems such as WPAS and CWS.
Requirement to liaise with all levels of staff including clinicians and Senior Management.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
