Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Distribution Supervisor.  You will be responsible for the day to day running of the distribution team and deliveries across Multi client base customer base to ensure efficient and timely service provision.

You will be the front line contact for all clients and external suppliers, dealing with ad-hoc enquiries and making online business decisions relating to the Distribution service although this position is based at Bury St Edmunds there may be the need to travel to Ipswich.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensuring that drivers comply with drivers hours, TACO rules and speed limits.
  • Maintenance of all Trust owned vehicles, including inspection; action taken to remedy defects found by drivers.
  • Ensure drivers record and report vehicle defects.
  • Keep accurate vehicle records which must be for period of not less that 15 months.
  • Ensure that vehicles comply with weight restrictions.
  • Ensure that authorised vehicles are kept at the authorised Operating Centre when not in use.
  • Notify Traffic Commissioners of any relevant changes.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Must hold a clean Driving Licence. Able to Drive up to 7.5 ton (Category C 1). If EU Licence must have D-9 counterpart.
  • Certificate Professional Competence in Transport Management
  • Education to Level 6 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Education to Level 5 Diploma with additional education or equivalent experience in Project or Management.
