Job overview

The Suffolk Wellbeing Service is part of the national accredited IAPT initiative. The aim of this is to increase mental health access to those living in Suffolk aged 16 and above who are experiencing mild to moderate levels of anxiety and depression. The service works in conjunction with Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) by providing low and high intensity mental health care to the local population.

Suffolk Wellbeing are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Wellbeing Engagement Worker Band 3  working alongside our underrepresented Communities to raise awareness and support access to our services.

The post will be based in either Ipswich or Bury St Edmunds, but travel will be required as part of the role to work across Suffolk This is a full-time post. Working hours are between 8am and 8pm and could involve some weekend work

Suffolk Wellbeing are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Wellbeing Engagement Worker, you will use your knowledge and experience of working with Community and Voluntary Sector groups to engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures and your creativity to set up and present appealing activities and events in Community settings. NSFT is committed to lifelong learning and continuous professional development (CPD) for its entire staff. There are a variety of definitions of CPD across the professions, but it is usually taken to mean learning activities which update existing skills.

We are seeking an individual with the knowledge and skills to work as part of a team and be innovative in their approach. You will need to be flexible and have the ability to cope in a highly demanding role and demonstrate a high level of organisational skill.

You will work under the direction of the Senior Community Advisor whilst being managed by the Community Service Manager.

  • NVQ level 3 Health and Social care or equivalent level of knowledge

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable experience of Community based work that contribute towards the benefit of health care outcomes and social engagement.
  • Experience of setting up creative and appealing events and activities and engaging widely in the community.
Desirable criteria
  • Success in delivering community development projects which have been led by the community and have resulted in meaningful change
  • Experience providing advice/signposting to services.
