 Band 3 Healthcare Assistant (HCA)

We're currently looking for an experienced Healthcare assistant to join our busy Admissions Unit. This is a fast paced role requiring focus, fortitude, and a proactive approach. 

You'll be part of a supportive, values - led team committed to delivering safe, high quality care in challenging situations. We welcome individuals who are hard working, kind and eager to learn.

Our dedicated education team offers ongoing training and development to help you grow. If you thrive under pressure, take pride in your work, we'd love to hear from you. 

Applications are welcome from individuals who may not meet all of the desired experience criteria. In such cases, candidates may be appointed to a band 2 position, with the opportunity for progression upon sucessful completion of additional skills training,

Education and Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Good general standard of education in Mathematics and English at GCSE level or equivalent to Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy
  • Care certificate or equivalent
  • Relevent course to role (eg: NVQ level 2)

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Current or recent acute hospital HCA experience
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of high pressure healthcare environment
  • Experience of working as part of a team

Skills, Abilities and Competencies

Essential criteria
  • Cannulation and/or venepuncture skill
  • ECG course
  • Demonstrates kindness, compassion and empathy
  • Demonstrates punctuality and good time keeping
  • Demonstrates fortitude and hard work
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrates understanding of patient advocacy
  • demonstrates further training/self development
