Ward 9 is an inpatient based area, where SAU is a same day emergency care department that focuses on providing urgent care to improve the health of our patients and preventing admission into the Trust where safe to do so.
We are looking to recruit a team focused Senior / Healthcare Assistant who is keen to undertake a hands role across the two departments we support.
We are a team who helps one another in the consistent delivery of excellent patient care and experience and would welcome your application if this would appeal to you.
Flexibility for shift rotation would be required.
Previous experience in the role or Trust experience would be an advantage.
If you would like to discuss the opportunity further, please do come to speak with the ward management team.
This post will include shift rotation between days and night shifts, to meet the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role include:
To contribute to the delivery of excellent care and the efficient running in Ward 9 & SAU.
To deliver care in a manner sensitive to the individual patient’s needs and wishes, acknowledging and respecting their confidentiality, rights, and beliefs always.
To undertake extended skills as expected of Trust healthcare assistants working at band 3.
To ensure a positive patient experience, as first point of contact by providing a welcoming, helpful, and supportive environment.
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and to have a good understanding of the complex needs of surgical patients.
Undertaking appropriate administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the ward department.
Providing hands on care to support patient’s recovery and wellbeing.
Having excellent communication skills to escalate any concerns you have to the nurse in charge of the shift.
