Job overview

The Financial Recovery Advisor will play a pivotal role in supporting the Trust’s financial recovery programme. This senior finance role will provide expert financial insight, challenge and leadership to drive sustainable improvements in financial performance. The postholder will work closely with operational and clinical leaders to identify, evaluate and implement cost improvement and recovery initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and patient care standards.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job include working closely with the Division of Surgery and Women's & Children's Services, to support the Division with the recovery plan, ensuring accurate and prompt reporting to the Trust to allow for timely, strategic decision making.

To provide expert financial advice to senior stakeholders, including Executive Directors.

To develop and maintain financial KPIs to monitor progress against recovery targets.

To assist the Division with planning and forecasting, ensuring plans enable the Trust to deliver its targets and objectives.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Qualified with CCAB, CIMA or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Expertise and experience in financial management within an acute NHS provider
  • Experience of building effective collaborative working relationships with a wide range of senior stakeholders
  • Ability to analyse and present complex data in Excel
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of budget management in a highly complex environment

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Able to manage conflicting demands and plan appropriately
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
