Job overview
The EEAST training Deapertment is looking for an administrator to join their team based in Norwich.
The post holder will be responsible for all administrative tasks within their allocated training centre, as well as being required to travel to external training venues across the East of England to support, as required.
Suitable applicants will have experience working in a similar administrative role, with the ability to manage multiple demands and build positive working relationship.
The role is based at our training site in Hellesdon, Norwich with some travel required across the EEAST region (Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Hertfordshire).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a point of contact for guidance and support to learners, for matters relating to the administrative role such as documentation, pay and expenses, uniform etc.
They will work closely with training centre colleagues to support the smooth and efficient delivery of education programmes within EEAST.

The training and education department is part of the strategy, culture and education directorate. As a department we are responsible for the delivery of a broad range of courses including new starter training courses, a range of in-house courses designed to assist learners to progress to other clinical roles in the trust, and a variety of courses designed for clinicians joining EEAST from other NHS organisations.

There are currently four main education centres in the Trust:
- Chelmsford
- Hellesdon (Norwich)
- Abbeygate Sixth Form College (Bury St. Edmunds)
- Welwyn Garden City.
Each training centre has a team of lecturer practitioners (LPs) who support learners through their journey; they are overseen by education managers responsible for the standardisation of education and training. Our training centres are supported by a team of administrators who ensure the smooth running of our courses.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Responsible for ordering, stock control and distribution of supplies for the building and resources required for students and staff. The post holder will be required to liaise with other teams throughout the trust, to ensure positive multi-team working to meet the needs and objectives of the department.
Effective communication is essential, due to the requirement for regular correspondence via email, telephone and verbal. Ability to manage confidential documents and information in a professional manner and following GDPR guidelines. Follow direction and delegation from managers within the Education and Training Department.
Coordination and organisation of course starts and end points.
Work as part of a team to ensure that the Education and Training Department are efficiently meeting their objectives.
Have the ability to work independently and meet personal goals in an appropriate time scale.
Lead communication between the training team and operational teams, ensuring clear understanding of any changes or updates, so that students always receive a positive handover between clinical training and operations.
Present student information during corporate induction for each cohort. Understanding and student support will be required.
Assist students who have presented with additional learning needs, ensuring that the centre inhabits the equipment required, and the correct departments have been informed.

- Minimum of 3 GCSE’s Grade A-C (or equivalent)
- Experience of Level 2 Microsoft Office

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
