Job overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Risk Officer. This pivotal role plays an integral part in ensuring the smooth operation and effective oversight of the organisation's risk framework. The Risk Officer will be responsible for providing critical support to the Head of Risk and the administration of risk committees and groups, ensuring that these meetings function efficiently and in full alignment with the organisation's overarching strategic goals.
In this role, you will take on a variety of tasks that are crucial to maintaining the effectiveness of risk processes, including providing risk management support to our operational teams, analysing data and creating risk register reports.
The role also includes coordinating meetings, preparing documentation, and assisting with the implementation of governance policies.
Main duties of the job
· Contribute to the overall management and co-ordination of Risk, reviewing practices and processes to ensure that all areas are working effectively.
· Develop/maintain expertise in assigned systems, data and reporting processes to enable accurate and timely production of information.
· To provide full administrative support to the Risk and Policy Group and the Audit and Risk Committee, including meeting coordination, minute-taking, and action tracking.
· Responsible for production of timely and accurate information analysis and reports to an agreed timetable to the appropriate audience.

Your contributions will help ensure that risk meetings are well-organised, compliant with regulatory requirements, and positioned to make informed decisions that drive the organisation forward. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, where your attention to detail and strong organisational skills will play a key role in supporting the long-term success of the organisation.
The base for this role is Grange Lodge, Kesgrave - although we can offer some flexible working, there is an expectation for successful candidates to work from their base for the majority of their working week. Some visits to County Hall in Norwich is also expected but this will not be on a regular basis as the base will be Kesgrave.

Essential criteria
- Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to this person specification
- A degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Law, Public Policy) or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of data manipulation using a range of data formats and tools.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and able to use these skills to liaise with staff at all levels.
- Working in field of risk and/or governance
Desirable criteria
- • Previous experience of working within the NHS.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Prolonged concentration required when analysing statistical information and writing reports.
- Ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload to tight and often changing timescales.
- Work is managed rather than supervised.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Highly proficient in all Microsoft application
- Minute taking and providing administrative support to meetings
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of NHS IT systems (Datix, Ulysses)
