We are looking for professional, compassionate Registered Nurses to join our established and dedicated team on Macmillan Unit. We are a 22 chaired fast paced Day units which includes Macmillan Treatment Room & Chemotherapy Suite, which delivered treatment for Cancer Patients.

Main duties of the job
Participate in the provision of a high standard of patient centered evidence based nursing care.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for patients within the
chemotherapy Suite and Macmillan Treatment Room.
Administer medications including chemotherapy to oncology and hematology patients
Provide direct patient care with minimal supervision.
Provide supervision and demonstrate procedures to qualified and unqualified
staff.
Act as a role model at all times.
‘If necessary, we will offer UKONS SACT Competency Training’.

Applicants must have Emergency Department experience worked on a regular basis.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with the UK NMC
- Degree/Diploma in Nursing or equivalent
- Awareness of the national cancer agenda and guidelines
Desirable criteria
- Teaching and Assessing qualification
- Advanced Chemotherapy Course
- Evidence of continuous professional development including completion of the UKONS SACT Competency or willing to work towards this
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant experience of looking after patients in a healthcare environment
- Able to demonstrate utilisation of research based evidence and recent use of audit
Desirable criteria
- Relevant experience in administering chemotherapy and working with cancer patients
Skills, abilities, and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to plan and prioritise care for patients
- Committed to family centred care
- Experience with the administration of IV drugs
- Knowledge of professional issues in nursing incorporating NMC and IPAC
- Accurate documentation with attention to detail
Desirable criteria
- Clinical Governance experience
- Risk Management experience
