We have a number of Advanced Clinical Pharmacist posts available offered as full-time or part-time posts.  
        
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in these roles, as is the ability to work effectively alone and as part of the wider team.

Main duties of the job

You will provide clinical pharmacy services across The Queen Elizabeth Hospital including dispensary, outpatient, inpatient and specialist services such as homecare. You will be part of our exciting new digital project to deliver an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) for the whole of Norfolk and Waveney and working towards innovative pharmacy services in our new hospital from 2032.

The roles available are:
Advanced pharmacist – education 0.4FTE
Advanced pharmacist - antimicrobial stewardship 0.5FTE
Advanced pharmacist - surgery 1.0FTE 
Advanced pharmacist - cancer services 0.4-1.0FTE

We offer development opportunities as needed to equip you to deliver these specialist roles and achieve RPS credentialing. We are aiming to roll out 10% Specific Professional Activities (SPAs) from September 2025 to enable you to meet your career goals. Our pharmacist team work a minimum of 60% onsite to ensure we offer person centred care and support all team members, flexible working is possible and tailored to the needs to each individual role.

Person specification

Education & qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy plus pre-registration training resulting in registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy qualification or proven level of equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • Accredited pre-registration pharmacy student tutor and / or accredited clinical pharmacy diploma tutor
  • Independent Prescribing qualification

Occupational experience & abilities

Essential criteria
  • Previous hospital Pharmacy experience as a Clinical Pharmacist (minimum of four years post qualification including a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience in relevant specialist area)
  • Previous experience should be able to demonstrate that the post-holder is able to demonstrate highly specialist expertise in the actions and use of medicines in clinical situation
  • Previous experience of supervising / mentoring junior colleagues
  • Able to communicate highly complex information on the action and use of medicines at all levels within and outside the department
  • Demonstrates commitment to Continuing Professional Development
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of line management recruiting/day to day sickness/absence issues
  • Willingness to undergo further training
