We are currently looking for hard working and highly motivated Medicine Management Support Workers to join the Medicines Management team at East of England Ambulance Trust. We have two full-time vacancies for an ongoing basis with no weekend work required.

We are recruiting for a Medicine Management Support Worker who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Main duties of the job

The role of Medicines Management Support will help provide a high-quality pharmaceutical service to all services users of the Trust, under the direction of the Medicines Management Supervisor and Medicines Management Lead.

The post holder will support the medicines’ distribution service to Ambulance Stations throughout the Trust.

This will involve the re-stocking of used pouches, and taking orders/getting orders ready for delivery.

The post holder will also be involved in stock rotation and ensuring a maintained level of stock.

Operations support provides a wide range of services to A&E Operations and is made up of:

  • Medical Devices/Clinical Engineering
  • Fleet/Workshops
  • Make Ready Services

The core focus is to support the Operational teams to be able to provide exceptional patient care, and to reduce the frequency with which crews are required to be stepped down from a call, increasing the availability of direct care hours to patients.

Operations Support is accountable for delivering and ensuring that across the Trust - a thousand vehicles are clean, roadworthy, well stocked and the equipment is sufficient and suitable for purpose and are readily available to Operations throughout each shift.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To assist with stock inventory within Medicines Management Department.
  • To assist with the ordering, recording, disposal, and maintaining stock of medicines.
  • To take practical actions to ensure the medicines in all areas are stored so that they are secure, stored in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, and fit for purpose. Also ensuring stock is rotated correctly to help reduce wastage.
  • To assist in providing technical pharmacy support to EEAST to enable the Trust to improve the quality and care of patients.
  • To assist with the deliveries of medication to our Ambulance Stations across the East of England and, where necessary, to assist the Stores Team when required with deliveries to our main stores throughout the Trust.To note all discrepancies on deliveries and report them to the relevant person(s) ensuring a full account of the outcome is passed on to the Medicines Management Team.
  • To ensure accurate stock levels are maintained.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 3 in appropriate subject or equivalent experience
  • GCSE of C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
Desirable criteria
  • medicines management qualifications
