Job overview
The opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Assistant Financial Accountant to join the Finance Team of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust on a 2 year fixed term contract/secondment basis. This is to support the Treasury Management function within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
To support the Treasury Manager in delivering all aspects of the Treasury function, which includes updating the cashbook daily, assisting with control account reconciliations and VAT return.
Assisting with the administration for the Trust’s salary sacrifice schemes.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSE A-C passes or equivalent, including English and Maths.
- NVQ Level 4/AAT Qualified or equivalent experience working in a finance function.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial experience of working in a finance function, specifically dealing with Financial Services.
- Experience of working with computerised financial accounting reporting system.
Desirable criteria
- Working in the NHS.
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Computer literate with a high level of IT skills required to deal with the range of financial systems in use within the Trust.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets. Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of NHS VAT rules.
- Knowledge of ESR.
- Knowledge of Agresso (Finance Accounting Package).
Personal Qualities, Abilities and Attributes
Essential criteria
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.
