Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Psychological Therapist with extensive experience of delivering CBT to join our thriving team of Clinical Supervisors. We are an NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety & Depression service based across Norfolk and Waveney providing high volume, evidence-based psychosocial treatments for people aged 16 upwards with common mental health problems of anxiety and low mood. We deliver a bio-psycho-social model which includes psychological, employment and social interventions, with our partner NWMind.
Joining us means you become part of an established NHS Talking Therapies service that is benchmarked nationally as a service with excellent outcomes for our communities. You will work alongside PWP’s, MHP’s, Counsellors, Employment Advisors and our newly developed Access & Inclusion Team. Our partner Norfolk and Waveney Mind delivers a bio-psychosocial model that complements NW Talking Therapies, this includes PWS’s and community development coordinators.
Main duties of the job
In addition to providing clinical and caseload supervision to Step 3 CBT clinicians, you will ensure supervisees work safely and effectively, adhering to NICE guidelines and professional/service guidance. You will work closely with the Clinical Team Leaders to support staff, with your focus being on their clinical development. The Clinical Supervisors are very active in planning and delivering CPD across both steps, in response to staff and service needs.
You will hold a small caseload of clients, providing assessment and treatment for people presenting with common mental health problems.
Our treatments are delivered face to face, online via video platforms, and by telephone. We also provide workshops / webinars and computerised CBT (cCBT). Currently our supervisors work across all of Norfolk and Waveney, delivering the majority of supervision via Microsoft Teams, but as we move towards a new place-based model, we expect the supervisors to be based in a community hub, and to work from place for part of their week, combining with online delivery as required for those that prefer this method.
The clinical supervisor role includes having clinical discussions with colleagues in other services, and with secondary care teams in NSFT, ensuring all that we do is client centred, safe and effective. You will be required to support with interface between the service and wider trust teams.
Working for our organisation
Service Vision
- Our vision for Norfolk and Waveney is to improve the lives of the 210,000 people who suffer with anxiety and depression, promoting sustained recovery and wellbeing in line with Talking Therapies Manual.
- Together with partners we will reduce the differentials in access, treatment and outcomes from Talking Therapies that those who experience inequalities face in our communities.
- Our approach brings together VCSE and statutory organisations at System, Place and community levels, aligning physical health and mental health pathways with networks of social and community support.
The service is commissioned to deliver from 8:00am – 8:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am – 2:00pm on Saturdays. You will be expected to work within these hours across the week. Currently our Saturday service is delivered by external partners, however this is under review.
You will join a service that supports everyone in their roles and in line with Trust values.
Location: To be discussed at interview, likely to be East Norfolk.
