Job overview
Supervised by the Chief Technician, the post holder will provide comprehensive administration support for the Clinical Engineering team based at Red House.
· This role will work alongside the System Management and Quality Assurance Lead, liaising with the Chief Technician to support with the smooth running of the service. At all times this role will ensure that quality is maintained, and that processes and procedures are followed to enable a clear audit trail.
Main duties of the job
Working with the Chief Technician to ensure equipment maintenance & repairs are scheduled in accordance with Trust policy.
To manage the delivery of smaller scope projects that is part of Clinical Engineering and supporting the Medical Devices Operational Manager on larger implementations.
Preparing documents & assisting with the development of project proposals & the approval & prioritisation processes for smaller projects and post project review.
Act as first point of call; provide a customer-focused service, managing customer expectations by keeping customers informed of progress.
Responsible for ensuring that Clinical Engineering intranet page is kept up to date
Responsible for ordering & processing Medical Devices on behalf of the Trust and the Integrated Care Board (ICB)
Responsible for ensuring that relevant information relating to the purchase of Medical Devices is shared with the Trust Finance team so invoices are raised
Responsible for scheduling the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme for all devices maintained by NCHC
Point of contact for the requesting, ordering and supply of consumables to clients living in the community
Responsible for working with internal and external couriers to ensure equipment and consumables are delivered in a timely fashion
Support the Chief Technician with the setup, implementation and evaluation of medical device trials

- GCSE or equivalent English and Maths (at Level 4 or above or equivalent)
- NVQ 3 Business Administration or equivalent experience
