** This is a Fixed Term Contract / Secondment opportunity for 12 months **

The COVID Testing administration team was established to provide an efficient and effective booking service for Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) staff, keyworkers and patients. The team is valuable in ensuring multiple workforces are kept operational by booking and providing results. Alongside this, the team maintains the trusts commitment to continuing with patient care by booking the non-symptomatic patient swabbing service both through the drive-through centre and within the community.

The post holder will provide a high quality administrative and support service within the Covid Testing Department, and as such, will need to be able to communicate well with patients and their relatives, the general public and a wide range of multi-professional staff, internal and external to the Trust. In order to provide a support service to the technical staff, a versatile approach is essential and the ability to cope with a large number of different tasks simultaneously is a prerequisite of this post.

The Testing Administrator is responsible for ensuring the correct and timely input of patient information onto the Patient Administration System (PAS), and ICE observing the rules of ‘real time data entry’. All aspects of this role should be carried out in line with Trust Policies and Procedures on data collection and confidentiality. Confidentiality in all matters is of the utmost importance. They are responsible for booking of tests and deliver of results where appropriate.

  • The service runs over 7 days.
  • Weekend working essential.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
