Main duties of the job
Main Duties of the Job
- Lead the strategic planning and delivery of complex, Trust-wide administrative projects aligned with organisational priorities.
- Act as the professional lead for all administrative and clerical staff, including line management of senior administrative colleagues across localities.
- Chair and coordinate Trust-wide forums such as ‘Not Just Admin’ and ‘Recruitment & Retention’.
- Develop and implement consistent job roles, responsibilities, and career pathways for administrative staff.
- Drive service improvement initiatives and lead the adoption of innovative technologies, including AI, to streamline administrative processes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, business managers, and locality teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of administrative strategies.
- Provide expert advice and training to managers on administrative workforce development and support.
- Monitor project delivery, manage risks, and report on progress and outcomes to senior stakeholders, including the Board.
- Ensure financial oversight of key projects, contributing to cost-effective service delivery and resource allocation.

Essential criteria
- Educated to Masters level or equivalent professional qualification or equivalent demonstratable knowledge and experience
- Post Graduate level Project Management qualification or specialised knowledge of a wide range of project management tools and techniques, or equivalent demonstratable knowledge and experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in preparing high level, complex briefings and reports.
- Experience of writing a wide variety of communications for a wide range of stakeholders on wide ranging complex issues.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate excellent competence and confidence in using IT systems (e.g. Outlook, Word, ESR, Lorenzo, Iaptus, System One and Oracle). Ability to work under pressure and to tight and often changing deadlines
- Ability to influence both internal and external staff and organisations without formal levers of authority High degree of self-awareness and ability to plan and implement own development plan and career.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- An understanding of the relationships between the ICS, NHSE, Department of Health, Local Authorities and individual provider and commissioning organisations and how NSFT fits in.
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
