Job overview

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team on Rollesby Ward, a female psychiatric intensive care unit at Hellesdon Hospital on a part time basis (31 hours per week).

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive care for service users, from initial history taking and clinical assessment to diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care. You will demonstrate safe clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for service users in a mental health setting. Your critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process will be essential as you work with the medical team to meet the needs of the service users and provide clinical professional nurse leadership to the nursing team.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and provide safe treatment and care.
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions for service users with mental health diagnoses.
  • Rapidly evaluate and modify care plans based on patient conditions and responses.
  • Attend high-risk situations to provide management advice and clinical intervention.
  • Prioritise health problems and initiate effective emergency care.
  • Prescribe and review medication, integrating non-drug-based treatments into care management plans.
  • Promote evidence-based care and support service users in adopting recovery strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with service users, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of health assessments and therapeutic interventions.

Working for our organisation

Our Trust is striving to ensure that staff have access to development opportunities, and you can benefit from this. In this role you will also support other staff to develop and learn, to ensure we have a highly skilled workforce who are happy in their roles.
