Would you like to join our friendly team at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust as a dispensary assistant?

Based at Hellesdon Hospital, the dispensary provides a high-quality pharmacy service. The dispensary currently supplies medication to a variety of wards including Adult Acute, dementia and complexity in later life, child and adolescent and forensic services. We also provide a clozapine supply service to a large number of outpatients, the majority of which is processed by our robotic dispensing machine.

If you are motivated, hard working and have good communication skills with good accuracy and attention to detail, then this may be a good opportunity for you. You will need a NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

  • Manage the stores and pre-pack service of the pharmacy
  • Enter on the computer, generate orders, compile and supply ward stock items
  • Be lead for top-up services to allocated wards and departments
  • Dispense in-patient and out-patient prescriptions and individual named-patient medications
  • Maintain hygiene, health and safety through performing routine housekeeping tasks in the pharmacy department

  • 5 GCSEs grade C or above (or equivalent) in a science subject, mathematics and English
